The Dedication of the Barnwell Memorial Veterans Park took place on Memorial Day 2005. Some of the speakers that day were State Rep. of Dist.91 Lonnie Hosey, and VVA State Council President, Alta Milling.
The Mayor of Barwell, the Honorable Mr. Lemon, our own President Danny Black and our Secretary, Eddie Hair. What a day to remember that was!

Since the dedication of the Veteran's park, much work has been done to improve it. Many more trees have been planted, the walkway to the flags has been added and one by one more memorial plaques and bricks are being purchased by families of those who have served our country.

Chapter 828 members with the help of the city of Barnwell. have turned six acres of land here at the airport into a Memorial Park for Veterans of all Wars. There is still a lot of work to be accomplished, and we will be following up on improvments as they occur.

Our thanks to all who have worked to make this happen.
